The Master Link MLK-FZ card manages the data exchange between the central unit of the Z32 CNC FlorenZ Series and all the peripherals (servodrives and I/O's).
The MLK module connections are:
- RTE (Real Time Ethernet): connection with the Z32 CNC central unit
- Z-Link: optical fiber bus for digital I/O's, analog references, analog inputs, encoder inputs (2mS sampling time)
- Z-Star2: optical fiber bus for SPevo digital servodrives (250μS sampling time)

- Allows PE3 I/O modules mounted beside (see I/O Modules description)
- Manages Z-Link I/O peripherals
- Manages directly up to 8 SPevo digital servodrives through the on-board Z-Star2 channel
In case no expansion card (EXP-FZ1, EXP-FZ3) is present, up to 8 PE3 I/O modules can be connected directly to the Master-Link, like it's shown in the picture:
PE3 modules directly connected to the Master Link
Possible solutions:

PE3 modules connected to the ILK board |
PE3 - ILK
PE3 peripherals are composed of multiple, configurable modules
The first module is always the ILK card with Z-Link optical fibre interface
- Connected to Z-Link bus with optical fibre
- Plastic housing
- DIN Rail fixture EN 50022
- Maximum distance from previous/next Z-Link peripheral: 30m
PE3 MODULE TYPES:
PE3 peripherals are competely software configured: no need af any hardware configuration.
The high flexibility of the PE3 I/O system optimizes the cost of the electrical cabinet.
Each ILK module can manage a maximum of 8 PE3 modules mounted beside
The modules can be chosen freely between available ones:

Architecture scheme
D.Electron designs and produces digital drives for:
- 400Vac brushless motors (axes)
- 400Vac linear motors (axes)
- 400Vac torque motors (axes)
- 400Vac induction motors (spindles)
- 400Vac field-weakiening synchronous motors (spindles)
Z-Star2 drives system is composed of a power supply module that generates the 600Vdc bus and various power modules connected to the DC bus.
The communication between drives and Master-Link is done through an optical fibre connection: the optical fibre connection departs from the Master-Link, passes through all the servodrives and returns back to the Master-Link creating a loop connection, also called Z-Star2 channel.
